Getting Started: Basic Controls

Monato Esprit™ is a three dimensional world navigated mostly with the mouse. To walk to a location, left-click on your destination. To spin the camera, hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse. You can zoom in and out by scrolling the mouse wheel. On the bottom left corner of your screen is a grey window that will display game text as well as chat text from fellow players. You can click on the white text box to chat with other players. For more options on chatting, see Chatting.

While walking around, you will notice some fellow Archons in the world. Those with Blue names over their heads are players like you. Those with Yellow names are non-player characters, or NPCs. NPCs can be valuable sources of information and can also give you quests. Left-clicking on an NPC will open up a dialog window. You can see what the NPC has to say by clicking the "Chat" button, or engage in quests by clicking the "Quest" button. For more about Quests, see Quests.

The world of Monato Esprit™ is divided into a number of zones. The name of the zone you are currently in is listed at the top of your map, in the upper right corner of your screen. You can expand the map to show the entire zone by left-clicking on the magnifying glass icon. Clicking on the icon again will shrink the map back down. Icons on the map show the location of various notable destinations in the zone. Transition points between zones appear as glowing circles on the ground.

On the bottom right side of your screen are icons that open various game menus. The most important icon is on the far right and opens the System Menu. In this menu you can adjust your game settings, select a different character to play, and exit the game.
